The Harbor is a secure dementia-care area in the Bridgeway Pointe continuum that provides exceptional services to residents with mild to moderate dementia. The Harbor at Bridgeway Pointe has been developed in a part of our existing assisted-living environment and is staffed by experienced, trained professionals familiar with the particular challenges associated with dementia.

The Harbor is a comfortable 15-apartment wing that offers comprehensive services incorporating the most advanced theories and techniques in dementia care. The design includes a community work area where group projects may be performed. This area is surrounded by many activity options designed to remind residents of tasks they performed in the past. Daily grooming tasks are encouraged by the assistance of the friendly, familiar staff and enhanced by special times for manicures and pedicures. The beauty salon provides a final pampered touch.

After five years of operation, the Harbor continues to exceed our expectations. Our residents quickly settle and truly enjoy a wonderful enhanced lifestyle. The aroma of their latest culinary creation greets each visitor and signals the latest social gathering. As one resident explains, “It’s all hats and horns!” but most importantly, each resident and family member has the security of knowing needs are being met in a warm and caring manner and each resident is being encouraged to use skills and abilities in a comfortable, supportive environment.

Bridgeway Pointe’s Secured Memory Care Area, The Harbor, is the first assisted living community in Ohio to be awarded the status of an “Excellence in Care Dementia Program of Distinction”by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
